Re: [udig-devel] FYI: JPEG world files

Hi jody and Stephen,

just tried tiffs with world file and projection file. As a whole it worked out.

The example is just right, but if the program works with extension .wld for .jpg's; there's then a minor problem in the codebase. World file extension for .jpg file should be .jfw like that is .tfw for .tiff. (Like it is in ESRI programs and documentation). I'm curious so will test the .jpg for the same data.

I found some problem's with the rendering an image in minor scales, didn't show up below scale about  1:86000 and down.

.tfw
20.00000
0.000000
0.000000
-20.00000
3559185.000000
7096165.000000

Rendering was very slow, I'll check if more memory to uDig helps. Worked but not perfectly, and same behaviour when opening into map window with WGS84 with degrees - right place but not show up in all scales and slow.

All the best,

Heikki

So does that mean the example in the user guide is wrong?
