[udig-devel] Editing/Displaying Attribute Data in uDig

I am using uDig 1.1 RC5 on WIN XP SP2.

I am trying to work with a SHAPE file of the Manitoba National Road Network. This has about 96000 lines. I can display the lines great, and can edit the linework nicely too. And I can use the i tool to display the attributes for a line. I can edit the data in a field and it seems to take it but when I move to another line and back it doesn't save the changes and I even tried using the commit before moving away. Are we supposed to be able save changes to the attributes?

One other thing: when I try to use the Table View tab it displays some lines and then it takes forever to go through the table, sucking up all of the CPU power in my computer and never getting through the table, is there something that I am doing wrong? Can this dataset be too big for this version of uDig?

I am getting great results from displaying data with uDig, displaying large cadastral datasets along with WMS servers for vector data and WMS servers for imagery now I am trying to move onto editing with it.
