Re: [udig-devel] How to add an Oracle Spatial layer?

So I've made some changes and the wizard seems to be working... Mind you I don't have an oracle instance to test against so I can't be sure what works. If you could test it for me I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Oracle hasn't been ported forward yet for 1.1.x builds. I'll start working on that for you and try to get it working for tomorrow.

Watch jira: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/UDIG-743.

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out how to add an Oracle Spatial layer with no
success. Hopefully I'm just doing something dumb... So far I've
downloaded the latest nightly build of uDig for Linux (I didn't have any
joy with the releases either) and Set Windows->Preferences to the
location of ojdbc14.jar.

When I open the add layer wizard, select Oracle Spatial and click on
Next I get the following error at the console:
Unhandled event loop exception
Reason:
Failed to execute runnable (java.lang.ClassCastException:
net.refractions.udig.project.ui.internal.MapImport$MapImportWizard)

At this stage the wizard is still displayed although if I select another
data source e.g. files nothing happens.

Does Oracle Spatial support work out of the box (jar?) now or do I need to follow Vitali's instructions in his message "How to get work Oracle
plug-in (full tutorial )" from the 7/9/05?

Regards,
John
