I was looking into this issue for Luis (I can't find your email and you dropped off IRC). 

I can't figure out exactly why the control is behaving like it is. But
I was able to set up another StyleConfigurer, and select it by clicking
on the text area (where it says "simple") and pressing the down arrow.
It's not a solution, but it will let you continue your work.

When writing a styleConfigurator extension and implementing the required methods and providing ui (copying code from the simple shapefile configurator) the combobox for selecting the style configurator in the "Change Style View" does not allow for selecting any other configurator. Seems like that a select listener in the combo box is resetting iits selection to the first entry.
