I made an Apple format icon from the Windows icon you posted earlier.
Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Don't have the latest uDig installed, so haven't tested this...

Nope, still chunky. The Dock icon is smaller than the source, so the
chunkiness could be a result of downscaling rather than upscaling. Is
