Great tip! After changing my requirements from
-              <type>eclipse-plugin</type>
-              <artifactId>org.eclipse.ui.navigator</artifactId>
to 
+              <type>eclipse-feature</type>
+              <artifactId>org.eclipse.platform</artifactId>
reduces my errors to stuff like
