Hi Developers,
I want to open a discussion about this TRG:
First of all before I start, I want to state that I agree that having editable files in the repository is a really good practice, specially for open source (and should be mandatory).
However I believe that giving the solution of “just adding .svg files” or some code diagram (.mermaid for example) is not the only way.
Our goal should be to make sure that diagrams are editable. But other options can also be valid like including a `.xml` file into a `/diagrams` folder.
If we are using draw.io I would also be also valid for me to have a file as “.jpg” and have also the editable diagram in `.xml`.
I know it can cause duplication of content, however sharing “.svg” files sometimes can be annoying and using `.jpg` we can solve this inconvenience.
Anyway I want to know your thoughts:
- Should we include a allowance for adding ‘.xml’ diagrams from drawio as alternative to the ‘.svg’ when a ‘.jpg’ file exists?
Best Regards,
