Hello List,
hello Committers,
today I’m writing you as part of the Committer community, not in my role as member of the Catena-X Consortia System-Team.
Yesterday there was a change to our GH organization initiated via an EF helpdesk ticket and it was implemented within the same day. Basically, any committer can request these changes and EF will not question them if the
ticket is opened by a committer.
And that could lead to problems: Requesting a change on ORG level should never be initiated just because it’ll solve a specific problem for you. Did you think about possible side effects to others in the project? Is it
the best way to solve your problem, or might there be other solutions?
The recent change might not have any negative effects to others, but with the same intention I could ask EF Helpdesk to revert the change, just because I don’t like it
😉 (no worries, I won’t).
Eclipse-Tractusx is our all Baby, and changes to the available infrastructure should be discussed with the community first. That’s why I want to invite you all to discuss needs, worries, suggestions to workflows or any
other topic with the Community/Committers using the mailing list. We are one team, and we should start to act as a community and not as individuals! Let’s start!
Cheers Carsten
