Hi Tractus-X Developers!

 

We as the system team have reworked how we will introduce TRGs (Tractus-x Release Guidelines):

 

Instead of just announcing them, we provide a DRAFT version and open it up for discussion before making them mandatory (the process is described here https://eclipse-tractusx.github.io/docs/release).

 

Our first new TRG Draft is called “Helm test” and the mandatory date is set so that it will be verified at the end of PI9 (when I got the dates right) and this gives you enough time to act on it.

 

Please! DO NOT wait if not necessary. Helm test will become a fundamental part of verifying that helm charts and your product are compatible with multiply k8s versions, it will be critical for e2e testing and it helps us, the system team so that we don’t have to verify it works through installing it on pre-prod.

 

Helm test will require a working github action which will spin up a kind based k8s cluster and than runs helm test. Feel free to get in touch with us for consulting if you are not sure how helm test can help you with all your test automation needs.

We are still working and refining TRGs. Please be patient and this is a community topic: feel free to suggest new things and discuss together to make this process better.
