Is there any plan for Thym to support Node.js? We are looking for an IDE which can support both Node.js, Cordova so that developers can develop/debug for both client and server apps.
Can you elaborate what functionality you mean by "support"? All I can think of for THyM is a  "Cordova project using Node.js" project template in the New Cordova project wizard.
Better content assist and other node.js features which are independent of cordova would rather be added to JSDT project (which is also open to contribution https://wiki.eclipse.org/JSDT/Development ). You can also find a few related tools in Nodeclipse.
