Re: [thym-dev] Participation in Mars release train?

+1 on this.

The JavaScript IDE was removed because there wasn't anyone to maintain it. I think you guys would be perfect for that. There's definitely demand for it.

The IDE for HTML5 and JavaScript Developers sounds great. I also have interest from my QNX customers using Qt who build HTML5 components to run in it's WebView. HTML5 is everywhere. A lot of text editors do a better job of it, I have collegues who are happy just using Sublime. But giving it some spotlight and getting some users on board, could help grow this community. Because there's usually more to these systems than a couple of html files, especially in my Qt scenario which also includes a healthy selection of C++ and QML.

I have the feeling that a "Mobile" package would be too generic: almost any technology is now targeting mobile more or less directly. I have a good opinion about an "Eclipse IDE for HTML5 and JavaScript developers" that would include THyM. Looks like such a package was existing back to Helios: https://eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-javascript-web-developers/heliosr<https://eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-javascript-web-developers/heliosr> And was remove for "economy" purposes whereas it already had some relative success: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=355602<https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=355602> I'd be in favour of reviving it when THyM is ready to get in an EPP package. We just need to decide whether THyM contributors (and/or other people) are ok to make a few efforts in maintaining and testing this package.
