Re: [threadx] FileX Safety Certificate

Hi Renz.

FileX is currently uncertified. Our team will ensure that the diagrams in the documentation are updated to reflect this. The ThreadX Alliance website is the single source of truth for information related to our safety certifications.

Before contributing Azure RTOS to the Eclipse Foundation, Microsoft removed exFAT support from FileX since this technology is covered by patents that the company was unwilling to license for free. This removal is a code change that invalidated the existing safety certification, even though the rest of the codebase remained untouched. This is a decision made by SGS TÜV Saar, our assessor.

We are currently working to certify the ThreadX v6.4.x series, including FileX. I have no ETA to offer yet, but since FileX has been certified in the past, we are confident we can get it certified again.

Hi,

According to this diagram, FileX is shown as having safety certifications. However, on the ThreadX Alliance certifications page, there is no certificate listed for this component. Does FileX really have safety certifications?

Best regards,
Renz
