Re: [threadx] Eclipse ThreadX Interest Group Meeting — January 30, 2024

Hi Tobias.

At the last meeting, we confirmed to the interest group's members that the Foundation can deploy such a program from a process and legal perspective.

However, for the time being, our focus is on getting the ThreadX open source project off the ground and launching the supporting working group. In particular, we need to design and implement the processes that will enable the ThreadX project's committers and contributors to maintain the safety documentation as they make changes to the code. This work is underway but will continue for some time. We must also convert the existing safety documents to an open format (ASCIIDoc), enabling anyone to edit them.

Ultimately, our decision was to focus on the project and working group for now and introduce non-member access only when the working group is fully operational. We expect this could take place during Q2, but, of course, this is just a tentative deadline at this point.

Hi Frédéric,

I would be very interested in any news about the topic "Access to the safety artifacts for non-members". Would it be possible to post a brief update on the decisions made in last week's meeting?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Tobias

You can find agendas and minutes for all past meetings in this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/104Ep7r7NoKWQzpZrzULoPGrA4aAeq6SUyxDt0K4vngc

Please look at the minutes of the January 16, 2024, meeting and let me know if there are any errors or omissions.

Remember, participation in the ThreadX interest group is reserved for Eclipse Foundation members only. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in joining. We are still busy moving over the code and other assets. If you are an individual developer willing to contribute to ThreadX, you must wait a bit longer while we set up everything. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
