Hi folks,

I recently started a committer election for Tobias Ortmayr. He got the well deserved approval and is now a committer. However, I was a bit taken aback that only 4 people (apart from me) voted in the election. Under the Eclipse foundation governance, committers have a lot of power, so deciding who gets to be one carries a lot of weight for the long term health of the community.

I understand everyone has a lot on their plate, but I'd like to encourage all committers to take an interest in committer elections and invest the half hour it takes to have a look at the candidates. You'll have to work with them, after all ;-)
