One of my goals for this quarter is to update the Technology
Top-Level Project's charter. This is way overdue.
If we're to do this, then we need to get a revision ready for the
board meeting in March. The deadline to provide materials for the
March board meeting is February 29th. I think that we can meet this
deadline, but we need to get moving.
I would like to focus on making the charter align with reality. If
we want to debate the direction that we'd like to move the
Technology Top Level project, I recommend that we start that
discussion in parallel and plan to bring another revision to the
board at some later date.
I've created a new "Charter" category in our Bugzilla and have
opened a bug [1] to serve as an umbrella for issues related to the
revision.
I will ask the webmaster to set up the /technology website source in
Gerrit so that we can use Gerrit review. I'll create a branch for
the revision work.
PMC Members: it would be very good to have you engaged in this
conversation. Please configure your Bugzilla preferences to copied
on messages sent to technology.pmc-inbox@xxxxxxxxxxx.
For reference, the current charter is here:

My first revision (which I won't bother to pass through code review)
will strip out all the horrible, horrible MS Word markup.
Thanks!
Wayne
