As you may or may not know, earlier
this year IBM donated some code to OHF in the form of SODA (Service
Oriented
Device Architecture). SODA contains an element called SAT (Service
Activator Toolkit) which is essentially some OSGi service programming
helper
classes quite independent of SODA and OHF. SAT has it roots in IBM
code that has been (and continues to be) used for years in various
products.
Various people in the more general OSGi programming community are
struggling to program with services and SAT offers one potential
solution.
This component programming model space is evolving with technologies
such as Declarative Services and Spring/OSGi. SAT represents a viable
point on the programming model spectrum and readily be used by people
today.
Several people in the Equinox
community
have suggested that SAT would be better situated in Equinox as OSGi is
SAT's main (only) focus. As such, we would like to formally propose
moving this code base (about 100K JAR) from OHF into the Equinox
Bundles
component. The Eclipse PMC is happy receiving the code and this
message
is meant to poll the Technology PMC and ensure there are no issues.

Grieve of the OHF project has given his +1 and has no issues
