[technology-pmc] additional notest regarding Subversion licensing

Hello Janet,

I have a request related to the Subversive project.

Today I received e-mail from Thomas Hallgren, where he correctly mentioned my mistake regarding Subversion licensing. In particular, Neon library has LGPL license (not GPL as I referred originally), which, as Thomas mentioned, should be compatible with EPL terms and conditions. So could I ask you to go through libraries, which we defined during a calls time ago, and review licenses for all content. I need to have exact list of libraries, which don’t compatible EPL and prevent distribution from eclipse.org. Having this list we will be able to discuss libraries replacement with authors.

Below you can find the list of Subversion libraries:

Additionally it will be good if you can evaluate from legal point of view alternative solution – SVNKit library (http://svnkit.com/). See correspondent IPZilla item: http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1648. Does it license http://svnkit.com/licensing/index.html is compatible with EPL?

In order to migrating project to the eclipse.org we need approval for svnjavahl.jar: https://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1649. Please process this item.

Best regards,

Igor Vinnykov

Subversive Team
