Re: [swordfish-dev] Uninstallation behaviour ...

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=232356

Hi @all,

I've observed something strange when uninstalling Swordfish:
The features are removed, but the plugins
- org.eclipse.swordfish.registry.tooling
- org.eclipse.swordfish.tooling.doc
- org.eclipse.swordfish.tooling.ui.wsdlto
- org.eclipse.swordfish.tooling.ui
remain in the plugins directory, but the UI insists that Swordfish is no longer existing (in the installation details).

I wonder if this is normal behaviour of Eclipse or whether we have a meta data problem that causes Eclipse to "forget" uninstalling all bundles?!?!

BUG or FEATURE ????

Also the target platform definition remains. Users will sooner or later need the info that they have to delete and recreate their target platform definition (reloading is NOT enough!). I ran into this, because I got problems with javax.activation in my Eclipse I use for testing. javax.activation was still in my target platform definition (from a previous install where it had to be there).
I think we need at least an FAQ entry for this.
