You didn't write what you actually want to achieve with the detectors. However this influences very much how the detectors should be designed. For example, if you want to monitor queue length it is preferred to make them cover the whole approach.

Hi, 

I’m working on an intersection and I’m confused about where to place the E2 detectors. Should they cover the full road or just up to the signal head? Also, what length and position would you suggest? The length of the e2 detector in the picture below is 15.00.

I’d really appreciate your guidance so I can proceed with my work.
