Re: [sumo-user] mesoscopic highway simulation questions
Thanks, Jakob! Here are some follow up questions.

1. Should I tune meso queueing model parameters for highway scenarios, or are the defaults sufficient? If so, do you mind sharing some pointers (e.g., reports, papers, docs)? I did a comparison of the simulated fundamental diagram with that from field data. They are quite different, so I feel tuning the parameters will help close the gap (in addition to the potential topology config mentioned in your original reply). 

2. Thanks for the pointer! These are flags that enable the micro junction model within meso. I was curious if there is an implemented mechanism that is based on the meso model.

I have two questions regarding mesoscopic simulations for highways in SUMO:

1. Highway traffic bottlenecks: My mesoscopic model with default queueing model parameters isn't showing expected congestions at merges, even with increased demand. I am adjusting the mu-queue model's tau parameters and other two parameters: jam threshold and minor penalty. Is this the correct approach? 

2. Priority at merge: Unlike microscopic models (e.g., 'priority', 'zipper' in junction type), the mesoscopic model lacks explicit merge priority controls. Since it solely relies on headways and penalties, have any of you implemented any mechanism for mesoscopic to handle pre-defined priorities? If so, how?
