[sumo-user] Emergency braking on red
|
Dear all,
I am puzzled by the following situation: I have a bus travelling on an completely empty road network where traffic lights are installed. The bus approaches red traffic light on an relatively long (cca 100m) edge, travels at full speed approximately 40 km/h towards the red and starts braking late, cca 30m from the traffic signal. To stop on such a short distance, the vehicle needs to perform an emergency braking. A similar situation occurs when the bus is leaving its scheduled stop towards the red signal that is in this case again some 100 metres away: it accelerates with maximum acceleration towards the red, reaching some 35 km/h cca 25 metres from the traffic signal, then it performs emergency braking due to red.
Is this an expected behaviour? I am using the standard (I suppose modified Krauss) car-following model with vehicle mass 15500 kg and accel="0.8", decel="0.5", emergencyDecel="1.6" and I am wondering if I set all the simulation parameters correctly.
Thanks!
