The E2 detector is often used to model detection from traffic cameras or similar area-detection methods. In these cases the length simply models the detection range. If you just want to measure queues and there are no other obstacles (such as busStops) ahead of the intersection than a longer detector will be able to capture larger queues caused by the intersection.

Dear Users,
When changing the requested detector length in E2 detector the output file (e2output.xml) will different as the initial result. So with isolate intersection, how far is the optimal distance for every approach? should we choose the distance is equal to the maximum length of each lane?

Thank you so much.
