Hello,

 

I still follow the advice given in the Wiki to capture screenshots for every time step and then glue them together in a video editing software. If you don't mind the strange interface, Blender is a good open source choice for that. Just add all images at once to create a strip and render it.

Either use a screen casting software (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_screencasting_software) or use the experimental sumo-gui video-feature available in the 'extra' version: http://sumo.dlr.de/daily/sumo-msvc12extrax64-git.zip
