(I've added a few more names to the CC list)
The board agreed, yes. The charter has been approved. But the project
has not yet been created.
It doesn't seem right to do a creation review. We do want the community
involved, but since the board has already approved the charter, project
creation has essentially been ordained. We can just move ahead with the
creation of the top-level project. I will need to know:
* The short name
* The long name
* Names of PMC Members and Leader
* Architecture Council representatives
* Names and descriptions for top-level-specific mailing lists and
forums
* Names Top-level "website" committers
* Desired project URL, something like "
http://www.eclipse.org/soa"?
Website committers will, of course, be subject to the normal due
process
by Sharon an the IP Team.
Once you have all this information together, I suggest that we open a
bug to track the process.
As part of the provisioning of the project, we'll create a "website"
subproject which will provide a "home" for website committers. We need
to have this project to manage the UNIX group of committers who will be
granted access to the website (this is a result of the UNIX group
standardization process we've been implementing). This subproject will
also serve as a focal point for electing new committers into that role.
Unless you specify otherwise, I'll assume that the PMC Lead you specify
will be the PL for the "website" subproject.
Once we have the project created, we can go about moving the various
projects into the top-level. This will require one or more move
reviews.
We can lump as many of them together as you'd like. When the last
project moves out of STP, we'll do a Termination Review.
It'd be good if somebody could do a little blogging about what's
happening along the way.
Am I missing anything?

Wayne,
are you sure? AFAIR the board has

The one thing that's missing (AFAICT)
is the top level project itself.
AFAIK, we haven't actually created the
SOA project yet. I believe that
I'm still waiting on a proposal.

Hi Zsolt. You will need to schedule
a move review [1]. The review
documentation is relatively simple:
you just need to describe (in as few
words as possible) why you're
moving and what needs to happen: "Project
moves from place A to place B, all
existing committers will move, etc. "
You will also need to submit your
IP Log for approval and demonstrate
that you have a project plan in
place prior to the move. If you can have
a review document to emo@xxxxxxxxxxx
<mailto:emo@xxxxxxxxxxx>
by Nov
10, we can do the review on
Nov. 18. I am happy to help you
create the review documentation.
After the successful review, you
will have to create a bug for webmaster
to track the required changes.
HTH,
Wayne

Dear Webmasters,
the Swordfish project is planning
to move from the Runtime project to
the new SOA TLP. Please move our
sources in svn to the corresponding
new location and take all other
action necessary when moving a
project. If there is anything the
project has to do to support the
move just drop us a line?
The new SOA TLP is basically the
already existing STP project renamed
to SOA + Swordfish. I suppose the
STP PMC will contact you in the next
days to initiate the renaming of
the STP project.

Zsolt

Thanks Zsolt, good timing! We
had a PMC meeting this morning and
discussed this topic. We voted
unanimously in favour of this move
and
think that it is a great
progression of a RT technology into a more
specific TLP. Congratulations
and good luck.

Dear PMC members,
You may already know it, but
just to make it official. The Swordfish
project is planning to join
the the newly created SOA TLP.
In order to do so, we need
approval to leave Runtime from the Runtime
PMC. So, I hereby request
approval to move the Swordfish project from
Runtime
to SOA .

Zsolt
