Re: [stp-dev] SVN problems
|
I have TortoiseSVN working now with Subversive. In general it seems a
lot more smooth than tigris.
However, I had to disconnect the project from the repository using
tigris and then share it again using subversive. When I try to do this
though it seems to want to either commit my project as an entirely new
project or else I have to check the folder out as a project in order to
connect it with the repository
I have attached a screenshot of the error dialog.
I had a very similar issue with tigris when we originally moved to SVN.
Is there no way for me to take a project in my workspace and just
synchronize it with a project in SVN?
cheers
Antony

Hi guys,
Are these problems that only we are having or are these general
issues with SVN (possibly Windows/SVN)?
I don't think these are general issues - I've been using Eclipse on
Windows,
MacOS and Linux, with Subclipse and Subversive plugins, and out side of
Eclipse I've been using TortoiseSVN on Windows and command-line on Linux
and MacOSX. I haven't had any issues with checking stuff out, or merging
and committing.
I have to say that so far I haven't seen any benefit of using SVN
over CVS and instead I can see a whole load of areas where it is far
poorer.
Not surprising since you are having some issues with the tools. What
tools
and approaches are you using? If we can work through it on the list, it
may be useful to help others.
best regards
Oisin
