One advantage of putting it off ${user.home} is that it is not within the
project structure and thus "should not" get checked in. The other advantage
is that it is a "set it and forget it" procedure which appeals to the lazy
soul within me. We have to be careful that we don't psych outselves out so
thououghly that all user convencies disappear. I must admit though that I am
partial to user conveniences :-)
