Re: [stellation-res] No Nightly Build for 2002-12-04 due to problems with postgres 7.3
|
I have successfully built and installed postgresql 7.3 from sources the
other day.
All regression tests passed except for random() which when failing says
(ignored). That's probably got to do with /dev/random or /dev/urandom stuff,
anyways it's
not essential.
System is an up2date
Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)
kernel 2.4.18-18.7.x.
Configure options
--with-java --without-tk CC=gcc3 CFLAGS='-O4 -march=i686'
Default locales are en_GB.
HIH, and if there's any need for an Oracle or Postgresql dba/programmer,
don't hesitate.

Subject: [stellation-res] No Nightly Build for 2002-12-04 due to problems
with postgres 7.3
I spent the last couple of hours installing the latest postgres, 7.3.
I then tried the nightly build, only to get a failure in test8.
I think this is due to a character set problem initializing the
database.
In any event, since build failed, there is no nightly build for today.
I'll investigate further tomorrow.
By the way, are there any Postgres experts out there familiar with 7.3?
