I don't think this really answers the question.
Why are we seeding the comments table with a row with an empty string?
On the other hand: I think it's reasonable to expect the system to
work properly when users choose not to supply comments. So we need
to do something to make the system work correctly when an empty comment
is supplied. So far, it looks like Oracle is the only database that
we're looking at that has a problem with this, but we still need
a workaround to make it work there.
Dare I suggest that when the user supplies an empty comment, we
automatically substitute "no comment"?
