[stellation-res] Eclipse update URL - Still broken
|
Hi Ringo,
I'm afraid I lost track of this for a bit -- unfortunately, it's still broken.
I just tried again and get the same error message cited in my earlier message.
The old link (to the iTools site) still works for me (even though someone in
a different group here at Watson said it didn't work for them .... I'll
look into
that and report back). So, we have a short window for fixing the link to the
planetinternet.be site, if it's fixable.
Can you look into this? Or, could someone else perhaps post the plugins
somewhere? (Unfortunately we can't, for legal reasons). I'm looking into a
couple of workarounds, but the Eclipse Update mechanism is pretty nice if we
can make it work.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Ringo,
Sorry for the delay; I got a bit sidetracked :<
I just tried using Update Manager, running Eclipse 2.0 from my Windows box
at home.
I get a different error:
"Unable to retrieve remote reference
"http://home.planetinternet.be/~ridesmet/eclipse/updates/features/org.apache.log4j_1.2.5.jar"
[java.io.FileNotFoundException:
http://home.planetinternet.be/~ridesmet/eclipse/updates/features/org.apache.log4j_1.2.5.jar]
Maybe this is just a 403 error under another guise, even though the error
doesn't say "access forbidden"?
I've certainly gotten 403 errors under Windoze (via IE), but I don't know
if the Eclipse web client is obfuscating the errror.
Regards,
Jim

I have tried out the URL myself, and although all folders on my ISP
site are mode 777 and all files are mode 666, all HTTP clients get an
error 403: access forbidden when I try to retrieve the feature JARS. I
will investigate this furter...
