To give you an idea of how sudden this was for a lot of people (evidently about 7K), my plan was to release the EE 11 Web Profile support in the UI this weekend. I am still going to try to do some of that, but I also need to focus on resume updates and outreach to my professional network to find my next stable paycheck quickly. If I don’t focus on that, pretty much everything will go south quickly. If you can help there somehow, of course I would much appreciate it.

One of the things I ensured before my last day is continued Microsoft hosting for the Starter. I genuinely don’t think that’s in any danger soon. If that changes, I have requested a few months heads up so we can cope hopefully easily. Other logical alternatives are IBM, Oracle and Payara Cloud if it comes to that. When I get time, I will explore these as backup options just in case.

Folks,

Today I learned that my position at Microsoft was discontinued, amongst
many others. As a result, I will no longer be representing Microsoft,
but I will be involved here just as I have been for so many years.

Please reach out if it makes sense for us to explore something new

can also share my resume privately. Ideally I would like to remain with
the Jakarta EE ecosystem in some capacity. I still very much believe in
the technology and genuinely think it still has a fighting chance if
some things go right in the subsequent years with some hard work from
key people and entities involved.
