[sphinx-dev] Migrating Sphinx IncQuery integration to Viatra Query

Dear Sphinx developers,
As most of you are aware, the current IncQuery used in sphinx is quite
outdated. We've provided a patch which migrates to a more recent, 1.2.1
version (in the meantime EMF-IncQuery was merged into the Viatra project
and is now called Viatra Query). The patch is uploaded as an attachment
to https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=501899. This change
also involves removing the simple patterns and reimplementing their
functionality using the Viatra Query Base Index resulting in a much
shorter and simpler code.
One of the reasons we would like to incorporate this change is that our
acquaintances from the Artop community told us that they're experiencing
performance difficulties caused by the way EMF-IncQuery is used in Sphinx.
We would like to ask you to review and if possible, merge the change.
Our intention is to continue helping the Sphinx project regarding its
Viatra Query integration in the future. We're looking forward to further
cooperate with you.
