Re: [sparkplug-wg] Eclipse Sparkplug Steering Committee Elected Representatives Announcement

As a follow-on to our election announcement, we realized there was no requirement to hold elections as the working group has one participant member at this time.

As a result, we reached out to HiveMQ to determine their interest in participating in the Steering Committee. We are extremely happy to announce that HiveMQ has accepted the seat and Ian Skerrett will be representing HiveMQ on the Steering Committee!

On February 28, 2020, the Sparkplug Working Group Steering Committee held its inaugural meeting where the Committee expressed its intent to proceed with holding elections as per its Charter [1].

The Steering Committee is comprised of representatives of each of the Strategic members along with elected representatives from Participant Members (two seats are allocated to Participant Members).  Participant Member seats are allocated following the Eclipse "Single Transferable Vote", as defined in the Eclipse Bylaws [2].

As a result, we will seek nominations from related members and hold elections as/if required to fill these important seats based on membership levels.  More details will be forthcoming.
