- Topic 1: Use of datatype field in the Sparkplug payload
- Do we need to send the datatype in all Sparkplug messages?
- Proposal: Only send datatype metric property in Birth messages?
Consensus: Yes.
- Topic 2: Datatypes and their enumeration
- Actual .proto file, datatypes are really just a comment...
- Initial datatypes enumeration was based on supported datatypes within Ignition
- Proposal: Should these datatypes be more well defined/formal?
Consensus: Yes.
- Topic 3: Quality Codes
- Spec doesn’t have a formal definition for quality codes
- Proposal: Should Quality codes be more well defined/formal in the spec?
Consensus: Yes. Wes will do a first iteration and come back with something.
- Topic 4: Define how Sparkplug relates to MQTT 5
- Proposal: Support MQTT 5 in Sparkplug spec and TCK?
Consensus: Yes.
