Greetings folks. We're still in the organization application
phase. It's not yet time to apply to mentor or submit student
project applications. Please do, however, feel free to start
exploring how you might participate/contribute to an open source
project at the Eclipse Foundation.
If you are interested in being a mentor, or are a student
considering applying to work with The Eclipse Foundation for GSoC,
there's some information for you on the GSoC website.
https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/resources/manual
FWIW, student projects that fit directly within the scope of an
existing Eclipse open source project are more likely to be
accepted than projects with unrelated scope. All contributions
from participating students are treated as normal contributions to
an Eclipse open source project.

As a student, you must expect to sign the Eclipse Contributor
agreement, and push your contributions as commits to the project
repository. All of your contributions will be made under the terms
of the project license.
Potential mentors, please take a few minutes to add your project
ideas to the "Ideas" page
https://wiki.eclipse.org/Google_Summer_of_Code_2017_Ideas
Thanks,
Wayne
