Re: [soc-dev] Contribute to Vorto in GSoc 2016

Hi Shiv,

I commented the bugzilla issue https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=488030 with further subtasks and clarifications. Please have a look and comment it, if you have further questions. All mentioned points there should at best be implemented by the end of the summer.

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alexander

I am interested in the idea https://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php?title=Google_Summer_of_Code_2016_Ideas&modqueued=1#Vorto:_Web-based_Editor_to_describe_IoT_devices

I looked up the issues / feature requests on Bugzilla and would the UI mentioned in the comments on https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=488030 be the expected output of this idea at the end of summer?

Could you please suggest some code challenges or tasks (bug fixes or features)  associated with this idea.

Thanks
Shiv

Subject: [soc-dev] Contribute to Vorto in GSoc 2016

Hi

My name is Shiv and I am student of IIIT-D  am currently pursuing my undergrad in Computer Science. I am interested in the IoT and would like to contribute for Eclipe through Vorto.

Currently I am interested in both the ideas submitted on the ideas page and would like to know a bit more about the expectations and the skills required for each idea before finalizing my decision. I have worked on Java, maven and Spring before and I am familiar with HTML, CSS and _javascript_.

Could someone please guide me to some relevant documentation, bugs or coding challenges that might actually help me get a better idea of the task at hand.

Thanks

Shiv
