RE: AW: Fwd: [soa-iwg] ECF remote services

After parsing through a bunch of venomous bile, I believe the key question
remaining is:

Is the ECF support for SOAP-based remote service providers, as described in
[1], sufficient for inclusion in the SOA-IWG package.

Swordfish tooling can/could be used, to create those providers and thus
actually be used to implement OSGi 4.2 remote services-compliant clients.

SOA working group and steering committee:

We/ECF need a definite response on the question of including the ECF
OSGi 4.2 remote services implementation in the SOA package. Since
components of ECF are depended upon by Equinox/platform, we have to
freeze parts of our API soon, as well as do Helios releng planning
around building/distributing the ECF remote services bundles.

I request that a decision be made by the steering commitee and public
response be posted to this mailing list before April 1, 2010. Kindly
also post an explanation for the decision one way or another.
