FWIW,

WRT tools for ECF remote services, we can now include Spring tooling in 
the set of available tools for building remote services.  An ECF 
community member has successfully used Spring + ECF remote services:

IMHO, this is an example of the value of implementing OSGi runtime 
standards for the SOA community...tooling that's built on those 
standards comes rather easily.
