Good evening everyone,

Google Summer of Code accepted students have been announced yesterday, and I have the pleasure to be one of them. As I will be interacting with the community from now onward, I would like to first introduce myself.

Quickly summarized, my name is Théo Giovanna, and I am a 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. My project consists in implementing a new binding to the ESH framework that allows a trusted exchange of information between entities, through IOTA's distributed ledger, Tangle, with an auto-compensation mechanism.

My project will be mentored by Henning Treu. He opened an issue on GitHub a month ago when I was working on redacting my proposal. I edited my post and linked the final proposal. It is available here: https://github.com/eclipse/smarthome/issues/5157.

If any of you feel like taking a look at it, please let us know for any feedback you might have: a new pair of eyes is always welcome, and can only be helpful.

Henning already provided me with the ESH & OpenHab documentation so I can get a closer look on how things work. So far I have just set up my dev environnement, which is running fine. Feel free to comment on the issue any resource that might be helpful in my GSoC quest !

Looking forward to this project !

Wishing you all a great evening,

Best,
Giovanna Théo.
