I'd like to nominate myself as a Committer Member of the Eclipse SDV Technical Advisory Committee.
Bio:
Pete LeVasseur, Staff Software Engineer, Woven by Toyota, Eclipse uProtocol Committer
My participation in the Eclipse SDV began while at GM working on Eclipse uProtocol, where I worked collaboratively with folks from ZettaScale (Eclipse Zenoh), Bosch, ETAS, and Microsoft to develop a couple of required components in the Rust programming language for our minimum viable topology.
I've since had the opportunity to collaborate and otherwise showcase my involvement with the Eclipse SDV when it comes to technical matters, including:
- Serving as co-lead of the Eclipse SDV's Rust Special Interest Group
- Representing Eclipse uProtocol at the Safety-Critical Rust Consortium's Coding Guidelines Subcommittee where I serve as chair
- Sharing the work we've done on Eclipse uProtocol with attendees of GOSIM 2024 in Beijing in a talk: From Service-Mess to Service-Mesh with Eclipse uProtocol (invited talk)
- Volunteered as a coach for the Eclipse SDV Hackathon 2024, making a promotional video and helping out with a team (Team Wise Riders) that integrated Eclipse uProtocol into their project showcasing Eclipse ThreadX.
- Continuing to improve Eclipse uProtocol through commits, reviews, and engaging in discussions.
I strongly believe that the future of Automotive software lies in how we can collaborate openly to solve common issues faced by all.
