SDV Hackathon Kicks Off
Tuesday, November 28, 2023 - 11:43 by Craig Frayne

With a great turnout and enthusiasm, the Eclipse SDV Hackathon began today, November 28, at Accenture in Munich. The primary goal of the hackathon is to bring together automotive software enthusiasts to experiment with the latest SDV tools, build exciting new features, and enjoy coding.

Highlights

The event includes over 30 hours of coding, with 75 participants divided into 20+ teams of 3-5 people each. The top five teams will compete for the final prize pool of exciting tech gadgets. The two-and-a-half-day coding marathon is led by mentors from major OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and other automotive/technology companies, including CARIAD, Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation, Bosch, ETAS, Continental, Microsoft, and more.

Experienced Hack Coaches will guide participants through two tracks: SDV Tooling and SDV Blueprints. The coaches and coders will bring to life innovative use cases and features built on top of existing real-life automotive software projects.

SDV Projects

There are eight challenges from exciting Eclipse SDV projects, including Eclipse Chariott, Eclipse Ankaios Orchestrator, Eclipse BlueChi Orchestrator, Eclipse eCAL, Eclipse Developer Console, Eclipse Muto, Eclipse Zenoh, Eclipse Kuksa, Eclipse Velocitas, Eclipse Leda, and the Eclipse SDV fleet management blueprint project.

Stay tuned for video interviews with participants, jury members, and others in the SDV community.
