Re: [scada-dev] Question about Modbus driver
|
Hello Eugene,
1.) Reading/Writing Coils and Holding registers. Reading of Status and
Input registers (unless I mixed up R/W and R/O registers again, but I
think you get the point). Big and little endian. Beside that the driver
is capable of mapping more complex data structures on the registers
memory information. Like 32bit registers, floating points, strings or
even structs.
2.) That is a bit like asking if the manual for a BMW works as well for
an Audi ;-) No it isn't applicable. And looking at that documentation
both drivers to seem to have radically different approaches. The Eclipse
NeoSCADA driver provides an application which does the full conversion
of a data model over modbus by configuring modbus request blocks,
register mappings and a polling and command queue. The Kura driver seems
to be more like an API to modbus. But then again I did not dig into any
details.
Best regards
Jens
