Thanks for taking the leap and pushing this though! 

Everyone, be aware: this also means 4.0.0 is now on the main branch. Bug fixes for 4.0.1 should be merged into main, improvements for the next minor release (4.1.0) go to develop. You may need to adjust some of your existing PRs.
