Re: [rdf4j-dev] jdk8 hotfix releases

Before closing the hotfix issue, I suppose there should be a note in the docs. But where ?

http://docs.rdf4j.org/server-workbench-console/ ?

http://docs.rdf4j.org/programming/ ?

Both ?

I'd say in the programming docs in section 3.1 for sure, and perhaps in the server/workbench/console docs as well, as part of section 1. FWIW I am open to suggestions for better organization of this - a lot of this kind of 'config documentation' is really shared between the libraries and the actual end-user tools.

Release branches are pushed, and I've cherrypicked three additional fixes (apart from the openjdk bug), see:

Jenkins is currently working on deploying the maven artifacts. I have to sign off now, if someone else wants to take over and do the SDK + onejar, and the announcements, that'd be great - otherwise I'll do that later this week.

I'll create release branches in the relevant repos for 2.4.4 now and start looking at backporting fixes. Bart if you happen to be online as well and want to pair up on this, I'm currently on irc (freenode, channel #rdf4j) if that makes communication easier.

Hi,

The 2.3.3 release containing only the workaround for the openjdk bug is being uploaded to sftp as we speak (well, mail…)

I’ll update the Wordpress tomorrow, and send a mail to the rdf4j user list.

And probably the rdf4j-doc reference/tutorial needs a small comment about this workaround as well

Great work Bart, thanks!

Other than this fix  is there anything else that should be part of a 2.4.4 release (since the jdk bug will also affect 2.4) ?

There's a few bug fixes currently scheduled for 2.5 that we might backport, e.g. the seconds bug. Have a quick look at issues labelled 'bug' planned for 2.5. if there's any fully backward compatible fixes there we can add them in. But no worries if we miss one, 2.5 is not far behind.

I'll have some time to help out tomorrow if necessary.

Cheers,

Jeen

Best regards

Bart
