Re: [rap-dev] Broken Link on Eclipse RAP Developer Guide

Hi  Dominik,

WAR Products tooling is not maintained for a long time and it's not compatible with the latest Eclipse Platform.
I would suggest to build the application WAR file with Tycho like our RAP examples. [1]

Hi Ivan,

thank you for your response. Sad to hear that, that document cannot be found anymore.

I have a question: Is the deployment per "Servlet Container" still supported? If you follow this deploymen guide [1] and try to create the rapdemo.warproduct an error happens, as seen in the attached "Error_when_creating_warproduct.png" screenshot. The mentioned WAR Products tooling at the beginning is also archived, as seen here [2]. Project Kepler was archived in 2008 and project Libra in 2022.

There is also an open issue [3]. That happens because the created .warproduct is empty and when Eclipse tries to open it, the error happens.

Tried both on Eclipse 2023-09 (4.29) and Eclipse 2024-12 (4.34).

Best regards,
Dominik

Hi Dominik,

Thank you for pointing us to the broken link. The PHP support on the Eclipse servers has been discontinued since the beginning of the new year. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find a replacement link for the requested content. To avoid a confusion, we will remove the broken link from RAP developer's guide.

Best regards,
Ivan

Subject: [rap-dev] Broken Link on Eclipse RAP Developer Guide

Hello,

I'm current reading https://eclipse.dev/rap/developers-guide/deployment.html  and noticed that the following link is outdated and no longer working:

Could you please update it?
I would also appreciate it if you could provide me with the correct link in the meantime, as I was unable to find the document via Google.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Dominik
