We are pleased to announce that our first beta version of Photran
3.0 is now available from http://www.photran.org/ . Photran 3.0
runs on Eclipse 3.1.
Note that this is a beta version, which means it is intended for
previewing and testing, not for production use. Features will be
added and quirks resolved before the official release.
Nonetheless, bug reports are welcome; submit them to Bugzilla at
http://bugzilla.photran.org/
As of version 3.0, we at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign are pleased to be co-developing Photran with Los Alamos
National Laboratory. LANL was independently developing an FDT;
Photran 3.0 is the result of merging Photran and the LANL FDT.
We would also like to thank Dirk Rossow, who added fixed form
support to the parser.
What's New in Photran 3.0...
Modified version of CDT 3.0 included in Photran.
Separate perspectives, project types, launchers, etc. for C/C++ and
Fortran have been eliminated and replaced with a single Make
perspective, language-neutral Standard and Managed Make project
types, etc.
C/C++ and Fortran work side-by-side in Make Projects view, debugger
Fixed form support - syntax highlighting, Outline view
New preference page for setting fixed form file extensions
Editor enhancements forthcoming
New Outline view
Parser handles C preprocessor directives
Intelligent/lexer-based syntax highlighting - if (if .eq. 5)
then ... highlights correctly
Full Managed Make support coming soon
Regards,
The Photran Team
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Los Alamos National
Laboratory
