Re: [polarsys-iwg] Get involved in the PolarSys Rover project - WebEx session about the PolarSys Rover project proposal

Hello,

I'm research associate at Polytechnique Montreal [1]. I was contacted to maintain the operating system image for the rover. I started to investigate the state of preemt-rt (real-time Linux) for the RaspberryPI in Yocto. The available version was old (3.18), and therefore I decided to upgrade it (4.4). I merged the two feature branches preempt-rt and raspberrypi patches and I made a recipe to build the corresponding system image [2]. The build works and I booted a rpi2 board with it, but there is still an issue to apply the kernel configuration options for full preempt-rt. I think I will need some help with Yocto, because it is quite convoluted.

Cheers,

Francis

Salut Gaël,

Of course I am interested in joining as an initial committer with the Autonomous Rover project which I have started and will continue evolving.

I will also initiate the process with the Chairman of the ISO JTC1/SC7/WG24 and the INCOSE Very Small Entities Working Group to have them join as interested parties in the Polarsys Autonomous Rover Project.

I will join the webex tomorrow.

Cordialement,
Ronald Houde

Dear all,

I am really happy that our initiative for the creation of educational material for the Polarsys solutions becomes concrete with the creation of the Polarsys Rover project (see the proposal here).

It is the right moment to raise your hand if you want to be listed as interested party in the project or, even better, if you plan to contribute very soon and should be added to the list of initial committers.

You can join me in the webex meeting (see invitation in attachment) when we will:
* Present the PolarSys Rover proposal
* Give a status about current prototype and when to expect a good distributable PolarSys rover kit
* Present the talk that has just been accepted at EclipseCon France
* Ask who wants to be listed as interested party
* Ask who wants to be an initial committer, and with what initial contribution
* Discuss other ideas and timeline

Let's talk together this Friday, or later on the project mailing list.

Cheers,
