The following appeared in the newsgroup recently, and they sound keen.

Subject: Storing an Eclipse Project in a Subversion Repository

Is anyone currently using a Subversion repository to store Eclipse
projects and share them with his/her development team? I've tested
Subversion and it looks very nice, so I'd like to use it even though a
plugin for Eclipse is not yet available. My approach would be to checkout
a project from the Subversion repository into a Subversion working copy,
and then import/export files between the working copy and the Eclipse
workbench. This is my question: should the Eclipse .project file be stored
in the Subversion repository? I've read the Eclipse help section on
"Working With Another User" (with a CVS repository) but it doesn't say
anything directly regarding the .project file. If anyone could offer
pointers on how to use Subversion with Eclipse - or reasons why I should
use CVS instead - I'd appreciate it.
Cheers, Anne
