Not beeing an provider writer ...

CAs CCC/Harvest and (you no who) SourceSafe both make a difference between
binary/text type
files - both seem to configure this internaly (file based or via a
extension-list).

No difference in handling these files during checkin/checkout für an
application/user

Internal processing is naturally different ( delta/no-delta,
keyword-expansion, LF/CR conversion
for Unix/Windows, merge).
