Re: [platform-vcm-dev] Team CVS 2.0, input desired for FAQ and Getting Started

It made sense to turn off autobuild when using VCM if you were piecing
things together from CVS bits at a time or had to establish an environment
that involved editing some metadata first. I'm assuming this advice would
still hold.

Excellent list Mark, thanks!

I don't understand the concern here.
You should only be getting one build cycle once all the resources have
been brought in. Is this not what you are seeing?
This should also be true for checking out multiple projects in one menu
operation.

Thanks again for the great feedback,
Kevin

Kevin,

Things that tripped me up:

1) No more Team Perspective. So explain how to access repositories.

2) Took me a few minutes to figure out how to add an existing project to
repository. Share Project.

3) Option to add project to workspace from repository, appears to now be
"Check Out". This is probably consistent with CVS terminology, but coming
from other SCM tools, Check Out has a different meaning to me.

4) CVS folders. Johan's filter tip is a good one to know.

5) If necessary, explain how to enable Team 2.0 support by renaming
plugins. This should probably be #1 FAQ, if it is not going to be on by
default.

6) Might as well address the :local issue in an FAQ. Might save you some
time later.

7) Might want to provide tip about turning off automatic build on
resource
modification prior to checking out a project.

8) Decorators. This one seems to come up a lot. How to enable/disable
them.

Hope this helps.

Mark
