Re: [platform-vcm-dev] Can "virtual" CVS modules be added to Workspace?
|
Please note that the new module support that Jean-Michel mentioned is only
in the new Team plugins not the VCM plugins shipped with Eclipse (Team is
shipped in the latest 2.0 intergration builds but the plugins are all
turned off). Also, it doesn't support "virtual" projects yet. It only
displays certain types of module aliases in the repo browser. However, if
you are brave and want to use the Team plugins, you can still checkout
modules using the command line client and then import them into your
workspace and share them with a Team repository (Team is CVS command line
compatible whereas VCM is not). After that you can use the new Team
functionality (which is similar to that of VCM with a few additions). See
previous postings to this mailing list for instructions on how to setup the
Team plugins (I should stress here that they are still under development
and somewhat unstable).

In the latest integration build we have added a first pass at module
support. Open the repo view and from the toolbar menu (little triangle)
turn on "Show Modules". If you have modules defined they will show up as
top level folders under the HEAD brach. From there you can browse the
module and add the projects to your workspace. This is only a prototype and
we plan to add more integrated module support in the next months.

Hi,
i'm wondering how a "virtual" cvs module (a project that is defined in the
CVSROOT/modules file and consists out of several different parts of pathes
from "physical" cvs modules) can be added to the eclipse workspace. the
commandline cvs client handles such "virtual" modules just like physical
cvs directory, but in eclipse i don't see these virtual modules, just the
physical ones. Is there any way to get these "virtual" modules into a
eclipse project ?
